Question about this because the documentation I'm trying to find is nearly none excistent.
One installation guide is telling me to create a new VU for it and a second one is telling me to install it under Admin VU. I took the second suggestion, because it won't be using another IP.
OK, installed it, ticked only "enable e-mail converter" and to process minor, major and critical alarms. Renamed the E-mail from address. Added E-mail recipients and E-mail CC recipients. Configured the AS also under both HAC nodes.
Now the "fun" part started. First real alarm that was sent to me, was when I changed the Certificate information under Admin VU. It's normal that the VU would go bye-bye, but that there would be 300+ alarm notifications in my e-mail box in less then 15 seconds, was very surprising, and they kept coming. Turned everything back to normal and alarms stopped coming.
Turned out, that my tests managed to put our companys exhange server in a blacklist every 30 min.
Now, is there any documentation where it's showen how to set it up properly? What is it monitoring and when will it send alarms? And can it be made to send info about a certain VU not ELEMENT##. We don't know my heart what ELEMENT## refers to a client. We have dozens of different clients.
Any help is very welcome.
